Social Media Consulting

Social media has become as ubiquitous as the telephone, and I believe -- now more than ever -- it is important for libraries, archival repositories, historical societies, museums, and cultural heritage organizations to embrace the new communication tools of the 21st century.

If you need a road map to discover your best route through the social media landscape, I can help. I brainstorm with organizations and individuals on ideas for establishing a unique social media footprint, including setting up a profile, writing a blog, composing "tweets," sharing images, and developing marketing strategies that help you to identify your target audience, and promote your collections and services.

Historical Research

My goal is to help you fill the gap where historic research is needed, but otherwise cannot be done due to budget constraints or limited staff resources, and with over 16 years in the information services industry, I can expertly navigate records found on the Information Superhighway or off the beaten path.

I can conduct in-depth historical research in a wide variety of archival repositories, including state and local archives; governmental agencies; historical societies; public, private, and university libraries’ regular and special collections; and private or company records. I also have access to an extensive library of legal, historical, and scholarly electronic databases.

I handle everything from quick record look-ups to in-depth studies. I provide you with a complete report of my findings, fully sourced and footnoted, that not only answers your questions about a particular facet of history, but also places your query into context, giving you a complete picture of life's past events in the richest possible detail.
