Brentwood Library presents 5-part Civil War history series

The Brentwood Library staff is focusing on Civil War history after receiving a $3,000 grant.

The American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities awarded the money to the library, which will host Let’s Talk About It: Making Sense of the American Civil War, a five-part reading and discussion series.

The library is one of 65 public libraries nationwide receiving grants to present the series, which will encourage participants to consider the legacy of the Civil War and emancipation. Local support for the series is provided by the Tennessee State Library and Archives and Tre Hargett, secretary of state...
